Responsibilities

      1. Install, configure, and maintain laptops, printers, and other IT equipment used by the project team 
      1. Install and update approved software, operating systems, and security patches 
      1. Monitor and troubleshoot internet and network connections 
      1. Provide first-level support for software, hardware, and connectivity issues 
      1. Ensure timely backup of data and assist in data recovery when needed
      1. Support staff with virtual meetings, presentations, and basic technical training 
      1. Maintain records of IT equipment and software licenses
      1. Monitor antivirus and basic cybersecurity tools to protect project systems 
      1. Travel to field locations as needed to provide on-site IT support 
      1. Escalate unresolved issues to senior IT personnel or external providers
      1. Set up and manage user accounts, access rights, and permissions
      1. Perform any other IT-related duties assigned by the supervisor is that all for an IT technician
      1. And carry out any additional tasks as delegated by your immediate supervisor from time to time.

Educational requirements

    Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field

    Experience requirements

      Minimum of 1–2 years of hands-on experience in IT support, helpdesk services, or a similar technical role.

      Additional requirements

          1. Practical knowledge of hardware and software installation, network setup, and troubleshooting
          1. Familiarity with Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office, and basic cybersecurity tools
          1.  Experience with network maintenance, including Wi-Fi and LAN configurations
          1.  Knowledge of data backup procedures and basic data recovery tools
          1. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
            viii. Good interpersonal and communication skills to support users with varying technical abilities
          1.  Working knowledge of English and Kiswahili
          1. Willingness to travel to field sites within Zanzibar (Unguja and Pemba) as required
