Responsabilités

The Crane Operator is responsible for the safe transport of loads on rig sites with the use of lifting equipment, such as cranes and hoists. He works closely with the team to complete his daily duties. He also performs equipment inspections and assist for repairs on a regular basis.

 

Main Mission/Result Area

 

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITI ES

·       Operate/drive cranes and hoists at construction worksite or for daily operations.

·       Transfer loads to construction sites and discharge safely on the offshore platform (between platform and boat).

·       Bind loads to cranes.

·       Inspect equipment and machinery.

·       Assure accurate load conversion between SI (metric) units and imperial units for crane load limits not to be exceeded.

·       Keep and update maintenance and activity log.

·       Identify and report issues upfront that might hinder crane availability to assure integrity of cranes.

·       Carry out basic repairs to machines.

·       Set up machinery based on complex manuals.

·       Coordinate with bankman and interpret hand and verbal signals.

·       Follow safety guidelines and protocols.

·       Assist the team for routine operations when crane operations are not ongoing.

HSSE Accountabilities

 

·       Accountable for the safe loading and offloading of structures and different loads of various shapes/sizes to be transported to and for the platform from the boats.

·       Participate in all HSSE intervention schemes (HSSE Reporting cards, Incident reporting, site visits) and awareness sessions (HSSE Meetings, events and trainings) to maintain and improve Company HSSE culture and performance.

·       Understand the emergency procedure and the related requirements.

·       Lead as a role model to improve HSSE engagement within direct team, section, and department.

 

The incumbent may perform other related duties as assigned.         

 

 Key Challenges

 

·       Ability to lift heavy loads, work in heights and stand for long hours.

·       Accuracy and attention to detail.

·       Excellent vison from top of the platform crane to the boat and ability to see the big picture.

·       Ability to multitask.

·       Ability to convert between SI units and imperial units

·       Able to define center of gravity for non-regular sizes and shapes of loads during lifting.

Exigences scolaires

PI RP2D Standard crane inspector and operator certified.

Qualified Offshore Pedestal Crane Operator and Qualified Rigger.

BOSIET Certified.

Expérience requise

Previous experience as a crane operator or a similar role.

Working experience handling different types of cranes.

Exigences supplémentaires

Any other relevant certification.

Maintain a high level of safety awareness and standards in all daily duties and tasks.

Ability to communicate effectively (Fluent in English and French.).

Ability to work effectively with others.
