Job Purpose/Summary

The Junior Petro physicist provides assistance in reservoir petrophysical applications with specific focus on formation evaluation, multi-phase flow behavior in reservoir rocks, wettability, and saturation modelling.

Main Mission/Result Area

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

·       Assist with conducting comprehensive petrophysical studies by integrating logging, core analyses, rock, fluid and production data for formation evaluation and reservoir characterization.

·       Support with developing comprehensive petrophysical models for incorporation into static and dynamic reservoir models for history matching and predictions.

·       Support to provide quick petrophysical interpretation while drilling.

·       Perform original research in petrophysics using computational methods and experiments.

·       Assist to update well correlating analysis covering whole field area.

·       Support with logging data archiving.

Key Challenges

·       Must have in-depth knowledge of rock physics.

·       Have a good understanding of logging instruments, acquisition techniques and logging principles and applications.

·       Familiar with G & G Petrophysical Interpretation software (Petrel, Techlog).

·       Be able to cooperate and interact with Operation and WSG Well site geologist.

·       Be able to conduct log analysis and interpretation. 

Exigences scolaires

Bsc/Msc holder in Petrophysics/Geology and or a related field with at least 2 years of professional experience. 

Expérience requise

·       Awareness in 4IR technologies such as AI, ML and data analytics is a strong plus.

·       Knowledgeable in pore pressure gradient prediction (PPG) workflows using appropriate software’s.

·       Creativity in interpreting and providing context to results.

·       Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to integrate geological interpretations into larger subsurface models.

·       Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and present findings to stakeholders.

·       Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently as well as in a team-oriented environment.

·       Cultural, Diversity, and Inclusion awareness and sensitivity.

·       Bilingual (Fluent in both oral and written English and French).
