Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:  

1. Safety Management  

Enforce strict adherence to safety standards, procedures, and legislation.   Conduct regular safety checks and lead safety briefings and training sessions.  

2. Operations Management  

Plan, organize, and oversee the daily extraction and processing of materials.  Monitor production levels and adjust operations to meet targets efficiently.  

3. Team Leadership  

Supervise and mentor quarry workers, promoting a culture of teamwork and  accountability.  

Train new staff and monitor ongoing performance.  

4. Compliance  

Ensure operations comply with local, environmental, and health & safety regulations.   Implement company policies and report non-compliance where necessary.  

5. Reporting and Documentation  

Maintain accurate records of production, equipment maintenance, and incidents.   Provide regular operational reports to management.  

6. Problem Solving 

Respond promptly to operational challenges, including equipment malfunctions or safety  hazards.  

Implement practical solutions to minimize downtime and maintain workflow.  7.Communication  

Coordinate with departments such as engineering, maintenance, and geology to support  uninterrupted operations.  

Serve as the main point of contact for on-site queries and concerns.  

Educational requirements

Degree or diploma in Mining Engineering, Geology, or related field.

Experience requirements

Minimum of 1–3 years’ experience in a supervisory role, preferably within a quarry or

similar industrial environment.

Additional requirements

 Leadership: Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a diverse team.  

Technical Proficiency: Working knowledge of quarry equipment and production  methods.  

Safety Focus: Deep understanding of workplace safety and risk assessment. 

Problem-Solving: Practical, solutions-focused mindset under pressure.  Organizational Skills: Strong planning and time management abilities.  Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills.
