Responsibilities

Our client, a major company specialized in the Oil and Gas sector, is seeking a Drilling Operations Trainee to accompany the strong development of its activities in Cameroon, Douala

Job Purpose/Summary

The Drilling Operations Trainee works under the close supervision of the Day supervisor. She /he maximizes his/her learning experience as per the training program defined by the company. She/he assists the entire team, works with some equipment, and occasionally operates them.

Main Mission/Result Area

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

·      Participate in various operations on the rig as per tasks assigned to the training program, such as but not limited to:

-                  Clean up spilled oil by bailing it into barrels.

-                  Keep equipment clean and in good condition.

-                  Unscrew or tighten pipes; casing; tubing; and pump rods; using hand; pipe wrenches and power tongs.

-                  Prepare the tubing bundle.

-                  Keep pipe deck and main deck areas clean and tidy

-                  Manually handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.

-                  Regularly inspect equipment, structures, or materials and notify Supervisors of abnormal situations.

-                  Performing physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking,             stooping, and handling  material.

-                  Help the operator  perform an inventory of the equipment and spare parts.

·       Participate in an online training program proposed by the company and demonstrate progress in learning sessions.

·       Understand and be able to implement the Company’s policies, procedures, and standards.

·       Fill the incident report card regularly.

HSSE Accountabilities

·       Participate in all HSSE intervention schemes (Incident Reporting Cards, Incident reporting Cards, site visits) and awareness sessions (HSSE meetings, events, and trainings) to maintain and improve Company HSSE culture and performance.

·       Understand the emergency procedure and the related requirements.

·       Lead as a role model to improve HSSE engagement within the direct team, section, and department.

The incumbent may perform other related duties as assigned.

Educational requirements

·       M.Sc. in any Engineering of Technical Fields (Drilling, Maintenance, Mechanical, Electrical…)

·       B.Sc. in any Engineering of Technical Fields (Drilling, Maintenance, Mechanical, Electrical…)

Experience requirements

·       Not more than 05 years of working experience.

Additional requirements

·       The BOSSIET Certification offers an advantage.

·       Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc).

·       Good command of communication skills (listening, writing, and reading) in both French and English.
