Responsibilities

Our client, a multinational is looking for a Drilling Operations Trainee to accompany the strong development of its activities in Cameroon - Douala

Job Purpose/Summary

The Drilling Operations Trainee works under the close supervision of the Day Supervisor. He/she maximizes his/her learning experience as per the training program defined by the company. He/she assists the entire team, works with some equipment, and occasionally operates them.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Participate to various operations on the rig as per tasks assign according to the training program such as but not limited to:

o Clean up spilled oil by bailing it into barrels.

o Keep equipment’s clean in good condition.

o Unscrew or tighten pipes, casing, tubing, and pump rods, using hand, pipe wrenches and power tongs.

o Prepare the tubing bundle.

o Keep pipe deck areas clean and tidy.

o Manually handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.

o Regularly inspect equipment, structures, or materials and notify Supervisors of abnormal situations.

o Performing physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of material.

o Help the Operators to perform inventory of the equipment’s, spare standards.

Participate to an online training program proposed by the company and demonstrates progress in learning sessions.

Understand and be able to implement the company’s policies, procedures, and standards.

Fill Incident Reporting Cards, regularly.

HSSE Accountabilities

Participate in all HSSE intervention schemes (Incident Reporting Cards, Incident reporting, Site visits) and awareness sessions (HSSE Meetings, events and trainings) to maintain and improve company HSSE culture and performance.

Understand the emergency procedure and related requirements.

Lead as role model to improve HSSE engagement within direct team, section, and department.

N.B: The incumbent may perform other related duties as assigned.

Educational requirements

B.Sc. in any Engineering of Technical Fields (Drilling, Maintenance, Mechanical, Electrical...)

Experience requirements

Not more than 5 years ' experience.

Additional requirements

The BOSSIET Certification offers an advantage.

Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

Good command in communication skills (listening, writing, and reading) in both French and English.
