Responsibilities

Job Purpose/Summary

The Assistant Mechanical Technician is responsible for the execution of work tasks assigned by the Mechanical Team Leader and associated with the proper repair of designated offshore production equipment.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Assist in the monitoring of operational performance of company assets against agreed indicators in own discipline.

Assist in ensuring safe and timely completion of mechanical repairs assigned by the Mechanical Team Leader and/or Line Supervisors.

Carry out routine and preventative maintenance assignments safely and efficiently within the Field.

Interface with other service sections for breakdown/routine maintenance work in facilities and plants to ensure minimum deferment.

Assist with the replacement and/or new installation of mechanical equipment as required.

Support in maintaining an adequate inventory of mechanical stock to minimize downtime of equipment.

Ensure all HSSE guidelines are adhered-to, for the safety/protection of personnel, company assets and the environment.

Promptly report any incidents that may pose a threat to personnel, company assets or the environment to the Mechanical Team Leader, Head of Offshore Maintenance and/or the OIM.

Be responsible and attentive to the Supervisor’s instructions on safe methods and job procedures.

HSSE Accountabilities

Participate in all HSSE intervention schemes (Incident reporting cards, Incident reporting, site visits) and awareness sessions (HSSE Meetings, events and trainings) to maintain and improve Company HSSE culture and performance.

Understand the emergency procedure and the related requirements.

N.B: The incumbent may perform other related duties as assigned.

Dexterity and physically fit for offshore work.


Educational requirements

GCE A Level or Technical Vocational Education (TVE) at the ATC Level or BAC Technique or Equivalent.

Experience requirements

2 years as Operations or Maintenance Assistant.

Minimum 1 year experience in Production Operations with acceptable knowledge of oilfield processes.

Additional requirements

Good listener, motivated & self-starter

Ability to promote staff/contractor awareness on safety, health and environmental issues.

HUET or BOSIET Certified.
