Responsibilities

Purpose of the Job:

HSD Human Resource Solutions Tanzania Ltd is seeking a dynamic and experienced Recruitment officer to join our team. The Recruitment officer shall be responsible for sourcing, interviewing and hiring new employees. He/She shall work with a variety of companies—from small businesses to multinational corporations—to fill job openings in a range of industries. The recruitment officer is expected to understand the types of jobs available in various sectors of activity and match candidates best suited for the positions.

 

Responsibilities:

 

-          Helping the company attract candidates by promoting job opportunities through the use of the Company recruitment platform (Harvest Data), social media, and other tactics

-          Understand the vision and mission of the company and align with business strategies and policies put in place.

-          Interviewing and screening applicants to determine whether they are qualified for a position

-          Resolving applicants’ concerns or issues by providing them with information about the hiring process or referring them to the recruitment platform.

-          Reviewing resumes and cover letters to determine whether candidates meet qualifications for the position

-          Conducting reference checks on candidates to ensure that they have good work ethics and experience for the job

-          Participating in hiring decisions with the HR manager or supervisor

-          Maintaining contact with candidates throughout the hiring process to ensure that each step is completed on schedule

-          Scheduling and conducting interviews with candidates to evaluate their suitability for the job

-          Recommending candidates for hiring based on their qualifications, skills, and compatibility with the company culture

-          Train and Induct companies and candidates on how to use Harvest Data platform.

-          Propose and implement recruitment platform (Harvest Data) densification actions such as participation in events, displays, advertisements, etc

-          Work closely with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, develop effective recruitment strategies, and provide regular updates on the recruitment process.

-          Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and company policies in the recruitment process.

-          Formulating management techniques for quality data collection to ensure adequacy, accuracy and legitimacy of data

-          Reach as many candidates as possible to get them to register on the Recruitment platform (Harvest Data)

-          Conduct a global skills analysis of the database to generate new vocations for training

-          Monitor new activities to promote new and scarce skills

Skills Required

-          Communication: Must be able to convey information about job openings to potential candidates, to explain company policies to candidates and to communicate with hiring managers about the status of candidates through verbal or nonverbal means.

 

-          Organization: Must be able to manage large numbers of applications and job candidates, so organizational skills can help them keep track of important information. Organization skills can also help them keep track of job applications and other documents related to the hiring process.

 

-          Time management: Must be able to carry out multiple tasks in a day, so time management is an important skill for he/she to have. He/she may need to schedule and conduct interviews, review applications and complete paperwork. Having good time management skills can help he/she complete their tasks in a timely manner.

 

-          Problem-solving: Must be able to work with multiple teams and departments to fill job openings. He/she should be able to use their problem-solving skills to find the best way to fill each position, including finding the right candidates, communicating with hiring managers and ensuring the job description is accurate. He/she must also use their problem-solving skills to address any issues that arise during the hiring process, such as when a candidate drops out of the process or when a candidate doesn’t meet the requirements for the job.

Educational requirements

-        Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience requirements

-          Minimum of 1 t0 3 years of experience in recruitment, with a proven track record of successfully filling diverse positions.

-          Proficient in both English and Swahili (spoken and written).

Additional requirements

-          Strong understanding of current recruitment trends and best practices.

-          Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

-          The ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels and a wide range of senior external contacts in a high-pressure environment

-          Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with hiring managers and candidates.

-          Familiarity with recruitment tools and technology.

-          Self-motivated individual with effective organizational/planning skills.

-          Basic knowledge in IT.

-          Demonstrate strong analytical abilities

Ability to forecast and advise management on important changes
